Vida Kazemi

Vida Kazemi, Ph.D. earned her doctorate from Boston College in 1983. She was trained initially in psychodynamic therapy at the Boston Institute for Psychotherapy followed by several years of training in couples and family therapy at the Family Institute of Cambridge. From 1991-93, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Behavioral Medicine Program at the Cambridge Health Alliance and supervised in that program from 1993 to 2008, holding an appointment at the Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Kazemi has been trained in Internal Family Systems (Levels 1-3 and Couples), EMDR, clinical hypnosis, and cognitive-behavioral therapy, and integrates these approaches as needed. Her specialty areas include the treatment of anxiety and stress disorders, difficulties in going through life transitions, and cross-cultural issues. She does individual and couples therapy with adults. Dr. Kazemi is bilingual in Farsi (Persian) and English, and semi-fluent in French.
