| After the rigorous mental workout, some N64 was in order. Ah, the life of a grad student. My impressions of LA? For better or worse, LA is defiantly the center for American pop culture. I highly doubt this is true, but someone told me that 10% of the people live in the greater Los Angeles area. I fully expect the events and moods of the Los Angelinos during the time I was there to appear in the next round of top 40 hits and movie blockbusters. There was also an amazingly disproportionate number of dorky guys hanging out with the most amazingly beautiful women. A week later I walked into an upscale Silicon Valley pub with Susan, John, and Greg where there were only two women (sitting alone together) among 75 well-off guys. |
