Monterey
| On my sister's first visit out, one of our road trips was to the Monterey peninsula. After a stop over in Salinas, John Steinbeck's home town, we arrived just in time for me to relax on the beach and recover from the long drive down 101 before the thousands of tourists arrived. |

This is me chillin' with John Steinbeck on Monterey's fisherman's warf. Some of Steinbeck's life was spent in Monterey on the old Cannery Row, and a novel of his was so nammed. |
| Hoping over the fence and running out on the forbidden peninsula, only to do my stupid, "Look ma, I'm on vacation" pose. |
