Alcatraz
| Angry at my sister, I decided to send her to The Rock. Originally a military base, later a military prison, and still later, a prison where the nations were criminals were sent, no successful escape attempts from The Rock were ever verified. |

| While on the tour, we heard time after time how the worst part of being sent to Alcatraz was that freedom was all around you, and there was nothing you could do about it. The best skyline view of San Francisco, and my best view of the Golden Gate were both while on The Rock. |

| After our walkman tours, we had a special treat -- a live presentation by the youngest guard ever to patrol Alcatraz. He told some very interesting stories of his personal experience on The Rock. |
