When we finally arrived at the apartment complex, we were a bit disappointed....   I guess it wouldn't be so bad were it not for the ants, earwigs, and the large hole above the bathroom mirror.

The place isn't quite the same one described by the university relations staff.   It does not have a pool or an exercise room.  For that, we would have to visit the other apartment complex owned by the same company several blocks down the street.

The view from that other apartment building, however, could never beat ours.

Here's the window from which the previous picture was taken...  And when we thought having a basement window looking under someone's balcony to the shack across the fence wasn't bad enough, the caution tape and large ditch adds that final touch that makes it feel like home.

The inside isn't so bad, though.  For a furnished apartment, a little art on the walls certainly makes it nicer than the cinder block of old ISR.

Bathroom.jpg (23960 bytes) And here's our lovely bathroom.  Notice the hole above the mirror and also the light switch that controls the bathroom light sitting in the hall, outside of the bathroom.  Needless to say this provided hours of fun.

A close-up of that hole.  You think it's noticeable now, you should have seen it before it was fixed..

The dryers leave much to be desired.  While conveniently located across the hall, allowing the warm air to heat our apartment at no extra cost, when one has to dry each load at least twice, at $1.25 a load, it adds up quite quickly.

Our kitchen facilities are nice, though.  Here, we use our dish washer to wash dishes, and not only as a drying rack.

The roommate situation is working out better than some of my past experiences.   Here's Seth not asking me where I was going and being mad for not having been invited.

My other roommate Mike trying to salvage the his car CD changer after a coolant mishap.  Notice the stylish "Feed the Need" Digital Alpha T-Shirt he's wearing.

Living with two other guys does tend to drive one mad, though.  The bedroom is always a good place to relax and read one of the many books, the view of which my large shoulder is blocking.

After a long day at work, I like to spend my evenings shopping for groceries in the all modern Price Chopper.  It's open 24 hours, you know.

Just before turning in for the night, I like to think about how I'm fairly confident that I've come to master my new domain, and see no problems in getting people to bow before me and tend to my every whim.

NightStand.jpg (21518 bytes) Bed time.  All it takes is a good book, a cold night, and warm blankets.  A friend or two wouldn't be so bad either... and I'm referring to my life-long stuffed friends.  :)
