Boston -- Jason Gallicchio

| After another lengthy walk across the Charles, I entered into downtown Boston.
This is the Boston Common, given to the city in the 1600s by some guy who wanted the
Boston people to have a place to let their livestock graze in communal harmony. |
 |
| The inner-city kid's Walden Pond. Actually this is across the street from the
Common in Boston's Public Garden. It's a really nice place to walk around with
beautiful flower gardens and walkways. |
 |
| A statue of some old guy. |
 |
| Another picture from the public garden, this time of Boston's financial
district. It's amazing that such beauty can co-exist in such harmony with the
ruthless quest for the buck. |
 |
| Boston's city hall, where the decision was made to put the city into debt for thirty
years or so in order to put the large highways running through this historic city
underground so the now raised roads don't have to disrupt the tourist's view while walking
around. |
 |
| A picture of Historic Feneul (sp?) Hall taken from the steps of City (sp?) Hall. |
 |
 |
You are here. I just thought I'd take a picture of this, so that next time I'm
in the city with no map, I can just find the nearest "internet cafe" and know
exactly where to look. |
| Famous, Historic Quincy Market. How many over-priced stores can you
see? |
 |
| A view of the beautiful Boston harbor, at the end of my day's journey where I sat
down, relaxed, and enjoyed the peaceful view. |
 |
| The Boston aquarium on the harbor. |
 |
| The most bizarre-looking fish there. |
 |
| Another bizarre-looking fish. |
 |
| The ride home... An end to another wonderful, yet lonely trip into the city
which has so kindly taken me in this summer. The memories I've made with most
certainly last a lifetime. |
