The New Pad

I was pretty desperate over the summer to find people looking for a roommate. The requirements were proximity to Harvard, size of room, quality of roommates, and under $600. Here in Cambridge, that's pretty hard, but I managed to find a place for $475/month. This is the only picture I have of the outside so far.... |

After I moved out of Kendra's Place, I slept on this air mattress until my parents arrived with my mattress. |

Here are some pictures of the place right after I hauled my stuff over (thanks entirely to my awesome new roommate letting me borrow his car after only having met him once.) The room came with that lovely green carpet, that lovely broken desk, and that half-case of Budweiser. |

Very first order of business was a broadband internet connection, provided by Direct TV's DSL service. |

I found the gray chair in front of a park on Broadway after walking all the way from Harvard thinking about how I needed a chair. I was having a very bad day and couldn't find anybody around who could be the chair's owner, so I snatched it for my room. I figured now somebody else could have a bad day. Eventually my brand new OfficeMax Articulating Task Chair arrived in the mail. I assembled it while sitting on the old one and wondering if it felt it's imminent replacement. I took the old chair in so kindly last week, and now I am plotting how to brutally reject it's unwelcome presence. I guess I'll keep it around as an extra once my 4-desk command center gets completed, but it smells a little funny. |
