- Greek Theater —Began as worship to Dionisis as a dance and later words.
- Chorus —(like the word choreography) moved and sang in unison.
- Hypokrites —Greek actor. A person emerged to talk to the chorus.
- Thespis —World’s first actor.
- Theater —A once per year three day festival/contest. One comedy, three tragedies, and one satyr play (which consisted of crude humor.)
- Hamartia —Error in judgment.
- Hubris —Excessive pride. Thinking you’re above the gods.
- Aristotle —Book The Poetics. First critic. Talked about pity and fear and not a tragic flaw or frailty.
- Dramatic Irony —Where the audience knows more than the main character.
- Agon —In Greek tragedy, it’s a "debate" or a dialogue between characters.
- Protagonist ("Hero") and Antagonist ("Villain") —Opposite sides of the debate. Creon, for example, is the protagonist.
- Stichomythia —Short exchange of quick lines.
- Foil —Minor character who reflects or enhances the traits of the main character.
- Greek Golden Mean —Everything in moderation, nothing in excess.
- Deus ex Machina —"God from the machine" Sudden outside force comes in and ends it all.
- Types of Literature —Farce, Melodrama, Comedy, and Tragedy.
